Today was officially the first day of summer, according to the school calendar. It was a hot, lazy, typical northern California summer day. Perfect if you’re a kid. Totally sucky if you’re a wage-earning adult. Since I fall into the second category, I didn’t enjoy today nearly as much as my first-category kids did. Yesterday they were all at last day of school pool parties. Today was spent sleeping in, playing video games and watching movies with friends. I have never hated being a responsible adult more than I did today!
The ONLY thing that got me through today (and will get me through tomorrow) is knowing that in less than 48 hours I’ll be stretched out at my parents’ vacation home in Lake Tahoe. And will be remaining that way for the next 5 days! 5 days of hiking and swimming and laying around on a private beach. I’m bringing a big stack of novels, tank tops and a vat of sunscreen. Oh glorious summer days!

WOW! That’s beautiful! I hope you have a wonderful time!
Nice digs! I will assume the snow is now melted. ;o) Have a great time!
