Yesterday, I crossed another TWO items off the ol’ 101/1001 list!!
First, I purchased a new (to me) car!! A gold 2001 Saturn SC – the kids love the moon roof and “secret” third door. The boys and I can’t wait to take it to Southern California next month over Spring Break. We’ll be camping, white water rafting and using our season passes at Univeral Studios!! Ain’t she a beaut!

The other accomplishment was that I finished reading Sean and Skye “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. I did this with Jason and Cali when they were little. It’s such a wonderful story. I think it was surprising for them to listen to the story and compare it to the movies, both of which they’ve seen dozens of times. It opened their eyes and minds to a whole ‘nother world. I started reading them “Inkheart” by Cornelia Funke last night; we saw the movie when it came out. But this seems to be a little advanced for them. So I’m going to pick up a copy of “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman, which I think is more age appropriate. Then we’ll probably go back to the world of Roald Dahl. He is absolutely one of my most favorite children’s authors ever!
