Today is the last day of school before Mid-Winter break. Which means Valentine’s Day parties. Remember as a kid, getting to pick out the boxes of Valentine’s to give to your classmates. And how it was SO important to get the “cool” ones – which back in my day involved Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears. Nowadays it’s Princesses, Cars and Transformers.
Sean and Skye spent a couple of hours last night signing all their Valentines’ for their classmates. Skye had picked Wall-E ones over Princess AND Tinkerbell. It’s good to see her interests expanding… though I don’t know that she’ll ever leave Disney. Sean picked scratch n’ sniff ones – man, I think I got those one year when I was a kid. I remember having a sticker collection (anyone else remember those days, with our binders full of them, all organized by cartoon or type? Oh man, it’s funny how a few tiny scrapes of paper can take you back!) The scratch n’ sniff stickers were definitely the most coveted!
I also took some pictures of them to send to their dad, along with the Valentines they picked out for him. The first one is all sweetness…
And the second one is all personality!
